the funny thing is i seriously doubt Dale Hunter gives an actual fuck what people think of him, he spent his whole career not caring and he hasn’t magically become a kinder, gentler man since we last saw him. those who are shocked and appalled are having a serious case of mistaken identity.
this is the guy who had over 3000 PIM by the end of his career and was feared and hated across the league. this is the guy they gave the penalty box to when they tore down the old stadium. this should not be a surprise, nor do i think he should have to apologize for it. the Caps played Boudreau out of town and they’ve gotten what they earned—a guy who’s not afraid to tell them exactly, explicitly what he’s thinking. i love Caps fans dearly and i love every Cap on the team but their feelings < fixing shit right now, sorry.
